I Can’t Believe That I Wore This
It seems that shopping has been in my blood for a long, long time and I have to admit that some of my purchases are kind of embarrassing. For my first entry, I want to take you back to somewhere around 1969. Paul Revere and the Raiders were doing a show in Peterborough, Ontario. So for those of you who have never heard of this band… well, they were big! Lucky for me, my grandparents lived in that town and I was able to talk them into allow my best friend and myself to stay for the week.
In those days, you couldn’t go to a concert in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I should have been so lucky. But I promised to share by most embarrassing shopping story, so here goes. For the big concert, I bought a blue and orange polyester dress with get this… orange fishnet stockings. I think that I even splashed out for new shoes, but what they look like escape me. I guess they just couldn’t compete with my dress and fishnets! And just in case you are wondering… the ensemble cost me a small fortune.
But for a sixteen year old, I did look pretty awesome… at least in my own mind! So now you know!
I’m glad to say that over the years, my tastes in fashion has changed. You won’t find a dress anywhere in my closet that can compete with the one I wore to that concert! But I still love shopping just as much as that sixteen year old version of me! :)
