Most Expensive Pocket Watch

by SP on June 1st, 2006

pocket watch

The gold pocket watch, which featured 24 complications, was the result of a long-standing competition between two magnates of America’s Gilded Age. New York financier Henry Graves Jr. and Ohio automobile engineer James Ward Packard vied with one another to own a timepiece with the greatest possible number of complications.

Well, I know someone who collects pocket watches and I’m certainly hoping that she doesn’t put one like this on her Christmas list. As much as I like shopping, I don’t think that I can afford $11 million… at least not at the moment!
