How To Buy a Wig
I haven’t picked up any new wigs in a while now, but there was a time when I just couldn’t get enough of them. I haven’t even worn them in a while, but at the moment, I have a long red one. I don’t have the patiece to grow my hair that long and I just loved the shade of red. I have another one that is sort of creamy brown shade, cut into a shag style and another one that is a bob with toffee hightlight. These three are the only ones that are coming to me off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are others sitting in their original boxes.
So what do you look for when buying a wig?
1. Take someone with you. A second opinion is very necessary.
2. If you are just starting out, a synthetic wig is a lot more affordable.
3. Be sure to pick up the proper shampoos and conditioners formulated for wigs.
4. Ask for instructions on putting one on. They can be tricky little sods.
Why You Might Want One…
1. They are great to take on vacations. If you are having a bad hair day, pull out one of your wigs and you are ready to go. And they take no space in a suitcase.
2. They only need to be washed after they have been worn 10 -12 times. Wish I could go that long without a shampoo.
What You Shouldn’t Do…
1. Don’t try cutting the bangs yourself. If you make a mistake, they won’t grow back (obviously) Have them cut by a stylist.
