My Cookbook Pick for Today… and why!!
Why?? Because it’s simply too cold to go out into the garden, so these are the days when I usually pull out a cookbook and thumb through it.
I especially like the Betty Crocker series because they seem to actually test the recipes that go into their cookbooks. And they are simple. There is one cake called The Bonnie Butter Cake that has been my favorite for years. You pretty much dump all the dry ingredients into a bowl, add the wet ingredients all at once and then turn on the mixer for 5 minutes. That’s it! It comes out big and fluffy and all you did was dump and stir. I like those kinds of recipes!!
*And you can tell just how good a cookbook is by it’s condition. Mine is literally falling apart and strung together with wool… I’m not kidding. It was a Father’s Day to my husband from Britt… 25 years ago!
