MICHAEL Michael Kors Grommet-Belt Shirtdress

by SP on July 13th, 2007

shirt dress

I can remember wearing shirt dresses a few years ago, but they didn’t have the sophistication that this one does! I can’t even believe that I am saying both of those words in the same sentence. Shirtdresses aren’t suppose to be sophisticated… but this one is pulling it off! It must be the belt and maybe the vent at the front?? I even like the color and I usually stay away from neutrals. They have a tendency of making you look washed out. Can you tell that I like this dress lol…

To be honest, I think the lighting in the studio makes the dress look better, and the model is of a lighter colour, and on a white background she looks ethereal.. I totally know that the neutral colour of the khaki shirtdress would make my skintone look ashen…

But as for shirtdresses in general, YAY! I love ‘em. I have one in black, one in teal, one in black striped.. the thing to remember is to try on a size or two larger than what you normally buy because the buttons (at least on the one I tried) have a tendency to pop open…

I need to get one of these! I don’t know why, but they always look so uncomfortable when I look at them on the racks, I haven’t tried one on yet. Maybe I’ll get one for this fall like Dexie suggested.

They may look uncomfy, but to be honest, they are just like wearing a button up shirt, or a pajama-like dress - quite comfy if the size of the dress is slightly larger and not so tight.
